Global Health Media Releases Amazing Free App for New Parents and Caregivers

I have shared before how helpful I have found the breast/chestfeeding videos that are produced and made available by the international organization Global Health Media. I use several of their videos when I teach the breast/chestfeeding portion of my childbirth classes. I appreciate so many things about them, including the diversity of the people filmed, the evidence based information they share, the fact that they are available in many different languages and that they are free. (Note: I do donate annually to support their efforts, and you can too!)
Global Health Media just announced a new smartphone app, Birth & Beyond. This app is currently available for download in the Apple App Store. An Android version is coming soon. In the app are 28 videos on topics such as birth, breast/chestfeeding and newborn caring, along with more specific videos on small baby care and complementary feeding.
From within the app, users can access and watch the videos in 21 languages, save any or all videos to an offline library (to access in locations without internet access) or share on social media or with friends and family. Global Health Media intends to grow the collection of videos to cover more topics and add additional language choices.
By making these helpful videos available through the easy to use app, new parents can access information on the go, wherever they are. I see it being especially beneficial to parent/baby dyads who are learning to breast/chestfeed in the beginning. A new parent can watch a video at the moment they need the information, specifically as they get ready to feed, with their baby in their arms.
The videos build confidence and are delivered in short, pleasant snippets, so parents don't get overwhelmed. I am excited to share the app with the families I work with so that they can have accurate and helpful information right where and when they need it most.
Please consider reviewing some of the videos, and sharing this resource with the families you serve. I think you will be very pleased with the information presented and delighted to have your families utilize this valuable resource.
