Earlier this week, Lamaze International launched their most recent direct giving campaign on #GivingTuesday.  I wanted to reach out to our blog readers to assure that everyone is aware of the importance of this campaign, the intent of the contributions you make and the impact that it has on both professionals and families.

Lamaze International is celebrating their 60^th birthday in 2020.  Our mission to advance safe and healthy pregnancy, birth and early parenting through evidence-based education and advocacy is more important than ever. Maternal morbidity and mortality is unfortunately at record high rates, systemic racism and inequities affect Black families at disproportionate numbers and other families of color also suffer poor outcomes that are often preventable.  The USA lags behind most other countries in providing evidence-based care for growing families that results in good outcomes.

Lamaze International is a non-profit association, and therefore your charitable contributions have the potential to make a significant impact as we strive to make evidence-based childbirth education accessible to all.  In this way, we can play a critical role in improving birth outcomes and reducing maternal mortality rates. Contributions made during this direct giving campaign are used to fund scholarships, certifications and attendance opportunities at in-person events.
