Wordful Wednesday: A Poem on Birth
By: Cara Terreri, LCCE, CD(DONA) | 0 Comments
Birth
In a cosmic instant
New life bursts forth.
One journey folds, giving way
To the next one.
Unfolding,
Moment by unstoppable moment.
Pain and fear,
Scars and wounds
Yield,
Even if temporarily,
To joy.
In that cosmic instant
All else is suspended.
It is simply
Life
Greeting new life.
It will become a story to tell (mine)
It is a story that's just begun (ours)
And a future story (hers)
That doesn't belong to me at all.
For now, we bask together
Still connected,
Though separate.
Two beings
Linked to each other through the same cells
Ready to begin.
