Lamaze International has long been recognized as a valuable resource for both childbirth educators and other birth professionals as well as for consumers. As a result, several years ago, Lamaze developed two complementary websites to meet the unique needs of each group. The professional website geared for birth professionals with additional resources behind a member only wall can be found here. The consumer website, with tons of resources and information for families during the childbearing year can be found here.

One of the main features of the consumer website is to share the benefits of taking a quality Lamaze childbirth education class. The site makes it easy for families to locate an LCCE who offers classes near them with a "Find a Lamaze Class" section prominently displayed on the home page. From the "Find a Lamaze Childbirth Class" page, a consumer can search to locate options near them.

Lamaze International wants to continue to increase the brand recognition of the Lamaze name and stress the important benefits of taking a Lamaze class and support the educators who skillfully provide Lamaze classes across the country and the world. With this in mind, Lamaze International is pleased to announce their new video - "Life Lessons Begin Before Birth!"

This animated video short speaks directly to parents who may be feeling overwhelmed with planning for a new baby and all the "helpful" information that comes their way from a variety of sources. As the video points out, taking a Lamaze class can provide the fact based information that new parents need to plan for a safe and healthy birth.

The purpose of the video is three fold:

• to inform parents (consumers) about the value of childbirth education and childbirth education classes
• to encourage viewers to look to Lamaze as an ideal resource
• to use animation to portray message and incorporate some whimsy - hopefully to lend itself to viral sharing

As educators, you can embed this video on your professional website, dispplay it on a loop at birth and baby expos, include it in a newsletter or direct mailing as part of your business communications and share on your favorite social media platforms (#ThanksMom, #Lamaze). It is light-hearted and fun, while sending the message that taking a Lamaze class is a critical piece of planning for a new baby.
