The Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance that centers Black mamas leadership to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice. Their vision is a world where Black mamas have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy. BMMA provides technical assistance and training to grow a network of Black women leaders, and works to gather leaders in the larger conversation. They have created the Black Mamas Matter Toolkit, a resource for advocates concerned about the health and well being of Black women and girls.
The Healthy Families Project is an initiative available in cities across the United States that works to improve health outcomes for children and families who are under-resourced and experiencing stressful life situations. The program is voluntary and provides a variety of services, support, and education to families in their home.
